Question

HI guys, I was wondering if those "time delay" processors (crossovers I guess they can also be called) are worth while. They seem really cumbersome and tacky, And I was wondering if anybody has any experience with them, if they are worth while. There is one for sale by "Cathedrel" or maybe thats what its called at Cash Converters for $8.00, I was just wondering what your opinions are. Thanks guys

If the thing will actually let you delay the signal a certain number of miliseconds I would go for it at that price.

It might help shift the soundstage of your front end to the middle of the car where it should be.

$8 bucks spent on anything that might help your system is a good buy.

Oh!

I wonder what they mean by time-delay then?

I guess there is good time delay and then not so good.

okay fine, I'll pick it up then.
If its not going to make much of a difference, then I wont bother, its just more garbage that'll degrade SQ. (I am the worlds biggest SQ nutball!!!!) but for novelty sake, I'll buy it. its been $8 for so long, Im sure I can pick it up for $5 or something, why not... It may fetch $30 on ebay, worst case scenario. I rushed over to the store a while back, thinking it was the answer to my prayers, but after looking at it, it wasnt't exactly what I thought it was, instead it was an odd little vintage devise for everything but a time delay unit. I forget what it was to be used for, but it had tons of pre-outs for all sorts of stuff.
Interesting unit. the time difference between be and the right front speaker, in relation the the left, closest to me, and the rear speakers is merely half a meter to a full meter at best, which realistically couldn't be THAT much of a time difference to warrant that little thing. Up untill I pick up that McIntosh amp (I cant wait, only $500!!!!!!!) that thing is as useless to me as a car with no engine..... since my speakers are all running off of my deck. but like I say for novetly purposes, I'll pick it up. Does anybody want to buy a Cathedrel time delay processor? LOL
