quick question

hey all i have a 2004 acura tsx and i am looking into putting a stereo in it finally and i was woundering if there is a way to have all the speakers (i would run 3 sets of componets in place of stock speakers) and have it "active".

i like the tuneablity of it being active but don't want to have to do custom doors and what not.

also if i were to put a flip out or double din can i do this also?

thanks

if you mean a 3-way component set there would have to be some kind of modification because the factory setup is a 2-way with bottom door location and dash corners for tweets. You will then have to find a home for your third speaker. Not 2 big of a deal, you can put your 6.5" in the door, tweeter in the dash and your 3" or 4" mind in the A-pillar or kick panel area. Not two much work.

if you mean 3 sets of components as in, a two way up front. two way in rear seat, and two way and the rear deck. then no you can't do it. (assuming its one of those cars with a "superfantastic 12 speaker system")

if you are just doing a basic setup, there really isn't anything wrong with a passive setup at all.

you should elaborate on your plans a little, because you can clearly interperet your post in multiple ways. as seen so far.

You need 12 independent channels (assuming 2 way comps). There are no processors or decks that have that many to my knowledge, so you'll have to use either a combination of or a few processors, electronic x overs, amps with built in x overs/processors. You won't be able to do time alignment properly (well maybe with the right equipment), but the x 0ver part is relatively easy with individual electronic x overs.

yes denonite got it

i had a 2 way system active in my last car and i like that i can change it to the way i want it and i am not as limted to what i can control. so unless i want spend big $ into processing units and what not i am probly better off doing a big front stange?

the problem i had last time was the 2 way componet set i had ( HAT legatia 6 1/2) and it wasn't loud enough for my liking.

would the HAT legatia 3 way series ( the pro tweeter , 4" mid , and 8" woofer) would that be any louder?

sorry for all the dumb questions

thanks
