rear fill is useless or not
I did the center channel thing years ago with a mixed mono center and a single polk egg. It sounded pretty good, but not good enough for all the trouble. Honestly, it really didn't add to overall sq, but it did draw the image toward it a little more. Conclusion, if you are hard up for imaging definitely worthwhile, otherwise just get good front speakers and install them properly and you will get pretty good imaging and soundstage.
I'm not a fan of center channel at all, I know why it's used and sometimes it's the only solution, but I HATE it. Other than for a 5.1 system.
If you don't have good center image after proper speaker placement and tuning, you need to start over again.

Newfinish asked me to host these for him:

MS Word document versions and larger copies of these pictures can be found at http://ettbox.dyndns.org/shared/newfinish
If these images don't load ... my stupid router might be misbehaving again.

I think the word version might be more readable thx a lot I don't know how you did it but it great having some help ,by the way i have some more in word version on how to creat pods for door panels how to have a sub box in a trunk by taking the spare wheel space, how to do simple kick panels, how to correct impedance problems with passive crossovers(zobel network),and what quantity of fiberfill should you use depending on ported or sealed enclosure size, you get the total gain on size.and I have a small article on jacobs electronic voltage regulator.
