for an 8" sub Id say JLW7 is the ****... as far as going with a pair there isn't much point... you'd be further ahead to go with a single 12w7 IMO...

Either way 1Kw of RMS power should be more then enough power....

 

What do you guys think of the Soundsplinter RL-i 8" instead of the JL 8W7?

 

I would use a 4080 box (or a pair of them) and a sub designed for a small sealed box like the Eclipse aluminum cone SW7000 series.
