Anytime bro, shoot me a PM and we can set it up. I am around Rexdale area, and I have a 97 base model Cav with a SQ / SPL system in it. Only the factory sized cheap battery from Walmart and 2.5k rms, 4ga big 3, 0ga front to back. Only dimming is when it is at the point of being too loud. LOL

Alright so I did some more reading and this is what I found
1) Adding a second battery will burn out your alt because now it has to charge two batteries
2) Replacing your alt with a High Output aftermarket one is found to be very unreliable.

The only thing consistent in my searches is doing the Big three is very beneficial

I’m not trying to go against people’s advice just trying to figure out the correct and safe way to do this

Being SQ or SPL has nothing to do with what wire you're supposed to use. If you read his first post he has 1000w for the frontstage and another 1200w for the substage so 4 gauge wouldn't cut it assuming he is only using one battery in the front. And if you were a true spl'er you would be using multiple runs of 0 gauge not just one.

Anyways I would recommend adding another battery with an isolator, the factory alt shouldn't have problems charging both as long as they aren't completely drained from the stereo.

ya but your average amp doesnt have big enough terminals to put zero gauge in sure his amp is rated at 1000 watts but that doesnt mean hes actually running 1000 watts so there therefore theres no need to cram zero gauge into his amp its a daily driver like he said so wheres all this power coming from that needs a second battery for

No one said he has to cram 0 gauge into his inputs, you could always split the 0 gauge at the back with distro blocks. And hes running 3 amps not just one.

fair enough but whats the point for a daily driver he could get away with 4 gauge and a single battery and the big 3 if he has the money then go for it but if hes doesnt want to spend money he doesnt have to he can still get away with it just fine keith ran 3200 watts off a single kinetic 1800 with no power issues whatsover and he has one of the nicest sounding cars in canada
