there's two options i know of...as many people are offering the suggestion of the sundown audio sa-8, a) amazing sub in terms of quality and spl, b) doesnt require a lot of power but WILL take it if you give it to it and it WILL be loud doing it, especially for an 8! second option, completely custom done from scratch...

I will also suggest the SA-8.
Dealer info can be found on Sundown Audio's website.
Average price is about $150-$175 with shipping.

I have a pair and I love them.
They'll take gobbs of power, just keep it clean and use a slightly smaller box than recommended.

A w7 8 inch requires a box size of a ten....so why not just get a ten then.

The SA-8 will require 0.6-1.0ft^3 of space.
Do it, its a great little sub.
I had an 8W7 in the HO box, it was nice too, but the box is just massive.

^ Sundown recommends .6 ft^3 tops for high powered applications.

Hello Allan 74

Thought I'd throw out another suggestion. TC sounds Epic 8, $143.00 from Parts Express down south, check out the Pe website. Solen in Quebec might carry them. I know nothing about the Epic 8 ,but have heard that they make decent subs.Just a thought.

I prefer the sound of a small woofer with alot of power, especially in a larger vehicle.

I also want to take advatage of the larger cabin of my SUV to be able to enjoy the actual bass notes, rather than the people driving beside me listening to my tailgate rattle.

Although I've never personally owned one, I've heard good things about the Soundsplinter RL-i 8" woofer:

http://www.soundsplinter.com/rli8_subwoofer_information.html

18mm one-way xmax, 500rms, requires a 0.5cf net VENTED enclosure or 0.3cf sealed. You could do vented with an external port and I bet that little bastard would hammer.
