Listened to the DLS 3-way's a few times - once in Tom's X5. Very nice and laid back. I'd totally recommend it. Dynaudio also has a 3-way setup (340) that has a 3" Dome. Heard that setup a long time ago and is also a very nice sounding 3-way. Don't think anyone deals AVI in Ottawa but they also have a 3-way with a 2" dome. These all are soft domes btw... don't think I've heard a metal dome I ever liked. Always sounded too bright for my tastes... though I haven't heard that eclipse before.
Good luck with speaker hunt!

Usher 9845 dome mid. Usher actually has some great drivers. After listening at CES 5 years ago I was sold on their company. Great Scan Speak knockoffs. I have their 8945 7" midrange/bass driver and 9950 tweet. I just realized they're sold on Parts Express and the prices are quite good. Perfect if you're running electronic x-overs.
