Werd. I am also a Clarion/Alpine dealer and although I am an avid Alpiner, the Clarion decks are just as reliable. We sell a few more Clarions than Alpines but I still find we warranty about the same amounts. Mind-you, don't get me started on the Ungo (Clarion) alarms. I swear they are possesed by satan. LOL...

I have a DXZ835MP and it is a decent, useful deck that sounds good. I am waiting for my CDA-9815 to come in and when it does, my li'l Clarion will be going to a better place.

Nothing beats the Alpine for sound quality (In a decent price range of course).

Unfortunately as of now, both decks are on backorder in Canada so if you find a dealer that has one, get it !

</font>[/QUOTE]It seems lots of online places here in the US have had issues getting the 835 as well. As for sound quality in a decent price range, I think Eclipse is pretty tough to beat.

What does Eclipse have that compares to the Dxz835 or the Alpine cda9815(60x4, i-personalize,digital time correction) in the same price range?

Eclipse doesn't have an internal amp that is rated as highly as the V-drive. They have 2 models that have time correction, the 8443 and 8053 but those don't play mp3s). I use the clarion 835 right now and love it, but I may eventually go back to Eclipse. The 8443(8 volt) lists for US$419, and the 8053 lists for US$549.

Eclipse's 8 volt is $419(and has time correction, etc). So, you could also say that Alpine has nothing that compares(since they don't have an 8 volt deck unless you want to spend US$7K on the F1 status and processor). More features also doesn't mean "better." It all comes down to what you perceive as having value(higher voltage, mp3, that i personalize stuff, etc). If you want mp3 and a ton of features then get the alpine(or pioneer or the clarion), but an 8 volt Eclipse for US$419, authorized, is a pretty sweet deal.

I'm not knocking Eclipse as a company or their product I just think for 99% of people, more value could be had fom the Clarion or the Alpine.

For many people, # of features will win out over higher voltage pre outs. I have used eclipse decks in the past(last 9 years, I used eclipse), and now I am running a clarion. I have no complaints so far with this deck.

In your opinion do you think the 8053 with the eclipse commander is worth it over say an alpine 7995 or clarion 835mp? I am looking for a good deck and eclipse has some awesome SQ decks but they do lack the MP3 feature which is something I would prefer to have.

how much do the eclipse 7inch flip out screen decks run for out in the US&gt;?
