Not bashing Focal or anything, I'm just starting to think it's overpriced and people are led to believe they're that much better just because they cost so much more.
Focal is a well-made driver (top notch materials, and well engineered) but they are imported do the price is inflated so the price to performance is tough with ALL imported drivers (Dyn, Morel, Rainbow, Hertz, Helix, DLS etc). I tend to look for speakers that are neutral and do not have an identifiable sound "hey that sounds like a *insert brand name here*

I've been listening to my DLS Iridium 6.2 set for the last 24+ hours... and damn. that's really all I can say is damn. I've listened to some high end home systems, but the clarity, openness and intensity of these speakers is amazing.
They are VERY good drivers IF set up properly, they can be pedestrian if the installation is not maximized.

John, that neutral sound you speak is similar to what I heard when I auditioned a set of Polykevlar components (on a Denon Z1 with Audison amps). I took it as being "Hm, they don't sound like anything extraordinary" and came away somewhat unimpressed. Nothing WRONG with the sound they produced. Just nothing that wowed me.

Macrom comes with a lifetime warranty.

I only bring this up because none of the about speaker do and we have plenty of championships in Europe to back up our claims also that there a high quality speaker.. If that means anything to you.

That description sounds like a colored presentation, where there is simply too much engineering focus on frequency response and not on dynamics, detail, system impedance (Allison speakers, some KEF, some AR). That is typified as a smooth balance of HF, mids, and LF but a definite 'blah' flavor. Over damping, putting in too much sound treatment, over processing can all duplicate this.

Neutrality is a systematic feature where every recording is allowed to have its individual sound. The opposite of this is my old tubed CJ PV-5 preamp, it was a simply wonderful sounding preamp BUT every recording sounded rich, deep, warm, 3D... the CJ changed the sound to a romantic ideal sound. Remember some recordings are done poorly and sound lousy, the system should tell you that too. A neutral system should be as exciting, or dull, as the original recording.

OK prove me wrong who else does life time warranty and does exchange on those same speakers? Cause I don't know another.. Take some of your own advice k?

Your right defro.. plan and simple.

In my defense I can not sell the speakers to anyone there are dealers and distributor in place to do this it was information no one had and I offered it.

I'm trying to find the best tweeter placement, that seems to be what's keeping them from performing to their best, but still, they're blowing me away with their ability to play music, not just reproduce the signal.
