Well, I've been playing around with my components trying to get them installed when I checked out my BassBox Pro6 and found out that the 6.5" driver is actually listed in the database.

So I got curious if I should try and design a box for them using the program but honestly I'm not overly proficient with it and thought maybe someone on here with more experience could guide me in the right direction. Because I've even considered trying a ported box for my 6.5's, heard mixed reviews with using ported boxes for the components but never heard them before so maybe I'd like them.

Anyways here is the woofer spec's

Mb Quart
QM 160TX-3
Part No. 95-6861
Fs=66.3hz
Qms= 8.45
Vas= 0.427 cu^ft
Xmax= 0.276in
Qes= 0.99
Re= 3ohms
Z = 4ohms

The amp that will be driving them is a Alpine V12 MRV-T707 at 100RMS per side. I can probably pull at most 0.5cu^ft for the speakers since they are going in my door pannel and will be fiberglassed in I can build a pod for them behind the pannel.

From what I gathered playing around with the program sealed around the 0.3cu^ft mark seems to be good... but I'm still looking for oppinions and info.

I'm a big guy with big feet so building kick's isn't an opion. So they will be in the doors as low as I can go and probably angled in some way up towards the middle of the front seats but I still need to play around with that before making anything finalized.

And again, I'm looking for input from this post. I've always been the kindof guy who slaps the components in somewhere around the factory location and then gets back to making my sub box bigger, deeper, and louder.

But I'm getting old... so thought I would take some of the info I've picked up over the years and try to make a system that can still massage my ***** but sound really sweet doing it

I have the exact same program, if you still want a further answer, I can throw the specs on my program, and give you the outcome. IF you want though, Its like if you cant use the finished box recommendations from me, theres no point.

The speakers can and will react very differently, given a ported or a sealed box. Some can work in one only, and definately not the other, without performing like ***. Like a Kicker Solobaric (older grey cone style) is designed for a small sealed *ONLY* It wont perform nearly as well in a non-sealed small enclosure. Its best to investigate, before you make any decisions, or cut the wood.

Have at it man, I've been playing around with it for awhile and I came up with the same info Defro has that it seems 0.3cu^ft sealed or greater seems to give pretty nice flat response, any less and the curve goes a little wonky. I've tried these speakers before in a box probably around the 0.2 cu^ft sealed or so and honestly they sounded pretty nice, so I'm thinking shooting for the 0.3 cu^ft will be what I do but if you come up with something that works out better I'll punch in your box spec's and see for myself.

I don't expect you to spend hours and hours trying to determine the best curve, but if you want to give it a shot it's appriciated. Plus you shouldn't have to enter the spec's in since if you have the updated driver database it's listed under the MbQuart section.

Thanks for the help/oppinions everyone, again it's appriciated
