Anyone have a chance to?
I owned one and gave it away prior to listening to it

But I did hear a pair at MECA finals last year, they were solid no perceived weakness but I did not do any 'show off' bass tracks

If you can, use a standard subwoofer. Thin subs were built with compromise. For this reason alone, I think you would be better of. I tried some of the thin woofers when I built my dash. Even the most expensive thin woofers didn't compare to my budget Dayton HO.

Would say stick with SI, reputable company. Haven't been a biggest fan of Kenwood's durability.

I am looking for the same thing. I don't "need" the shallow mount sub but i like to have a trunk.

RE Audio makes a shallow 10". I'm not sure if the SQ is there, but the price is always right with RE!
