Most class D amps have a damping factor over 400 at 4ohms which is more then acceptable... even running at .5ohm there shouldn't be an audible difference..

(cone control is maintained almost exclusivly by the spider/surround and the air suspension provided by the box anyway... )

I don't understand why the current draw of a class D operating at 1ohm amp will be greater then an A/B @ 4ohms.. it should be MUCH LESS as a typical class D amp is usually almost 2x as effeicent as a compairable class A/B operating at 1/3 power output...

Perhaps you mean more current output which is irrelavent provided you can afford an appropratly sized transmition line...

Infact the money you will save buying a smaller, more effecient, and less expensive class D amplifier as well as smaller power wire can be put towards some 10awg speaker wire which is about the most I can see someone needing for a 1000 watt amplifier...

IMO, class D amps do not have as much control over drivers as a class A/B amps does.

I still prefer class A/B for sound quality

A regulated power supply will be cause for better SQ over an unregulated design? Please tell why that is.

And the 800a2 and 1100a2 in the For Sale section are studs of an amp. If you can get a good deal on them they would be a very good choice also.

TheClass D has come a long way in last few years.I was very sceptical about buying one but...tons of power low current draw....and sounds great!
