avi sls300, i actaully sis a head to head with the admax and the sls300 in manufacturers recommended boxes and like both alot, the idmax had more output but the avi was more musical

The IDW's sound much better than the IDmax, even the IDQ's can sound better.

My favorite of all time has to be the AVI ZL 300, most musical driver I have heard IMO.

i am fortunate enough to own a zl300, it will find its way into my home stereo someday. as a true subwoofer, very few would compare to the zl300 but its limited bandwidth and because its no longer available i didnt think of it, an amazing subwoofer thats deserves notice

The SoundStream Reference SS-8s in a good ported box sounds pretty musical. Also..... the TAD 1601B (the original Image Dynamic 15s) in a Free-Air or AP box sounds pretty amazing.

Toss up between a Rockford PWR-412 (original Power 12") and an Alpine 6015CX (the re-badged McCauley 15" they used as their reference sub as part of the DigitalMax series).

I have a never-used Alpine 6012 (rebadged Gauss 12" sub from the early 90s/late 80s) that I'm really looking forward to using one day soon.
