If somebody use a microphone just like the one of eclipse and I know that pionner or alpine have something similar that ajust your system, will it help or it doesn't matter. If tune an active setup is that hard I will probably wait another year to learn more about it. But just for fun how different is it than tuning a passive setup ? (mine I have plug only the rear than at high volume I ajust the crossover and the gain to what my hear tell me was good, than at the same volume I just plug the front and done the same. Was it the good way to do it ??)
I don't really care if the voice coil on the speaker is the biggest on the market, I just want a speaker that will at least take the 150w rms of my JL450/4 and still sound great which it's not the case with my Perfect. I would like to have something that will play much greater than my current Perfect. and for the rear fill if I put one I think it will be only a midrange or so.

Mikes will not adjust xover points or slopes. They pretty much eq your system. BTW, maybe all you need is to properly tune your Perfects.

I agree...very simple. Every component set I've ever used passively and changed to active...even with the exact same settings of the passive c-o, sounded much cleaner, tighter, vocals were smoother and had way better transient response(kick drum thud, rapid drum beats, etc..). With the low cost of amplifiers these days, active is a much better way to go.

quite frankly...franky, I would try those perfects active before buying new speakers. I've heard them properly set up and they sound damn good!

If I want to put my current setup active how do I plug everything. I have in my closet an old school alpine external crossover(4ch). Do I still need to change my head unit ?

hm

i think Morel would be your best bet for speakers, that or Hertz, and for head unit-definitly something Alpine, sub, 2 10" Kicker CVR-they sound very good and are very musical.
