Suggestion of amps for MXS1204?

Hey, i got 2 MTX 12" MXS1204 subwoofers and was looking for suggestions of amps. I want the amp to be around 400watts RMS; mono or 2 channel. I'm also looking for an amp with awesome sound quality. Also needs a built in LP crossover or just an xover for subs.

I currently am running a very old thunder acoustic 400watt amp, and it is making my subs sound bad. I just tried my dad's JL 300/4 amp and it sounded a LOT better with my subs.

My budget is $400CAD or less. If possible, under $350.

Thx in advanced

If you wanted to stay with MTX you can try a TC6001. I'm assuming you'll be running @ 2ohm. The 6001 will do 600 watts RMS. I know thats a bit more then you wanted but it will sound great on those woofers. I knew a guy that was using a TC8001 on 2 12" MXS in a Daytona and did a 140.7 on a TL. Yes there are better more expensive amps out there, but this one will be quite addiquite for the job.. and easy on the wallet.

I believe the TC6001 lists for $549 but im sure you can find it cheaper.

OR

You can get the TC4001 that will do 400 watts RMS @ 2ohm for $349.99 brand new.. again im sure you can find it cheaper.

The 6001 will still sound way better..

lol, i dun really care about loud as long as it can reach 100db or so. I just want QUALITY thumping. My old amp makes a funny gurggling/distortion when the gain is turned past half. (It ain't my subs, cause i tested them with a JL AUdio 300/4 and it sounded great at loud volumes)

btw, i don't care what company, i dont have a bias. Just need a good amp thats all. Doesn't have to be MTX. and also, my subs are 4ohms (forgot to mention).

Also, what do u mean by TC6001 will sound way better...? Do u mean louder or better SQ?

but thanks for suggestion so far.
-sorry for bad english

Just start searching E-Bay then.. you'll find a good amp at a good price. There are a lot of quality brands. If you find one you like, post it and we'll give you some feedback.

Are u sure this isn't too much power for my subs? I don't wanna kill it.

EDIT: NVM my last sentence, the 6001 only does 300watts RMS.

Not exactly. You have 2 single coil 4ohm subs.. which means if you wire them parallel you can achieve a 2 ohm load which then 6001 will put out 600watts RMS. Like I said before my buddy has a TC8001 on 1 MXS's and it runs just fine.

Also that is a fantastic price
