Temperature range for amplifiers

What is the operating temperature range for most amplifiers? Now that the weather has been frigid cold (-25 to -40 Celsius), the audio system won't work.

Thanks...Keith

The head unit display does light up, but if I try to play FM or AM radio or the cd player, there is no sound. If I pull down the back seat and let the heated air in the cabin enter the trunk, and once the trunk area has heated up enough, then the radio and cd player will start to play music.

Some components just have a hard time with the cold. My deck does not play cd's, and my old deck radio did not work in the cold (very cold) -20

well after start up and turn on the radio, if I turn it off shortly afterwards then I get a loud sequel but if the system has been running for a while it is fine.

Holy Shizzzzzzz,

You guys need to move to a warmer climate if you stereo gets affected by the cold weather. Epica-go-boom...getting a loud squeal? That's gotta hurt your poor speakers.
Maybe your stereo's are like women, they should be warmed up before you use them.

I've had some little issues with both Eclipse head units I ran in the past like certain tuning features would disappear, but with several Alpines that I ran in the past and now I have not had a single problem. In your case, I have never seen anything so severe anywhere, but then again, I am not sure if I have ever even driven in sub -30C, I just stay indoors.

Keith,

I've never had that problem before, but it doesn't surprise me with those temps.
