Temperature range for amplifiers

Holy moly Keith where do you live? Many electronic parts are spec'd to -40 degrees but some are only good to -25. Below that they might work but it can be hard on them to crank it while still cold. Rapid temperature change is hard on electronic parts because the thermal expansion is not perfectly uniform. This causes mechanical stress inside the parts (the junctions).

By the way, -20 degrees that feels like -40 with the wind chill is only -20 degrees to your electronics. Try licking your amps before driving.

^^^you're funny! I live in Vancouver area which rarely gets below 0^celcius. I do, however have a remote start in my car, so the 40below crap won't really affect me.
My components are also in the car, not exposed to the fridgitity that you would see in your doors or trunk.
I will lick my DD amps and send you a picture.
