Hmmmm.... Not to toot my own horn but the theory in this discussion is starting to sound more and more like the design I've got and the reasons & challenges causing me to go down this road after a lot of reserch and contemplation.

Sux... I'm happy to hear this has worked out for you....awesome!

I'd love to have a listen when I'm in Van.

i dunno kilo, I think 8" midbass should be top on the list. 6" is only on there because it fits in most doors.

Heeeyyy.... Off course the eight is in the equation...but it's in the door cut off steeply below 100 Hz.... and the kicks p/u from there with a tweet & 4 & 6

I have the Dynaudio 360 setup. The 8" driver goes from 30-700 Hz (in their 2 way systems it goes over 1000 Hz). I have the 8's in floor mounts (like a kick but it’s not a kick) and lets say it has been a challenge… they want a lot of box-volume and they have resonance issues depending on the box-volume. I think the Dynaudio dome tweet and midrange would have been great in true kicks since they require no internal volume to achieve their frequency band (they would only need enough internal volume to house the magnets).

8” drives are more work than you would think.

Thanks John. believe me, I know how much work 8's can be, and I'm just mounting mine freeair! I'm doing this after attempts to get .3cuft for a sealed 6 in the door. My install level isn't quite there yet. Man, 30hz up front, I'm jealous!
