Tweeters popping

I am running an alpine MRP F240 amp to them...
I think I am running too much power to the tweets from my deck and amp...I've been playing with the gains control and it has improved..
Hmm..i never once considered that it may be the mids..i'll twiddle with it some more to see if it is or not...thanks for everyone's input!!

Just an update of sorts..
I just hooked up a kicker 10" to my amp running the front and bridging for the sub..it sounds amazing now!!!...the tweeters no longer pop when I crank it up and now I have nice base filler in the background...thanks to everyone who posted!!
