This is the exact unit I have. You're looking at about $12 including the 9V battery you'd need to buy with it. On this unit, you turn the dial so that the arrow is pointing straight down. That lower-left quadrant allows you to check resistance in a circuit. 200 ohms is the closest value to what you're measuring for, which is 2 or 4 ohms. With your subwoofers disconnected from the amplifier, you simply touch the black prong to the negative, and the red to the positive on the terminal on your subwoofer enclosure. Wait a few seconds, and a number will appear on the read out.

I purchased a nice little 600W Kicker Mono amplifier. Since I knew absolutely nothing about the finer details of car audio, I didn't realize that I wasn't using 600W since the sub I bought from the same store was wired for 4 ohms, and the amp would output 600W @ 2 ohm. So I was only using half of the power I bought, if that makes sense. They sold me on 600W while knowing I was only using 300W. Why not just sell me a less expensive amp capable of 300W @ 4 ohm. I wouldn't be surprised if your subs are grossly underpowered. I still find it hard to fathom that two quality 12" JL subs don't provide enough bass.

I bought 5ft of the 12 gauge for my fiancee's sub, which hasn't been installed yet. The cable is still sitting in my office.

I got everything now.

Witch brings me to my next question. When i build my custom box with my dad how much Square Footage does it need to be (hopefully you know what i mean)

I got a 13 inch w7 with a 1550W Mono Block Clarion DPX11551 my 2 frad cap and a clarion apx240 for my speakers.

I just need wiring and my head unit.

But first im focusing on the box.
