in your overhead console placeing a 5W focal sub up there or placeing it in the arm rest/console?

would it be better of under the seat or in the seat? [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img]

it would be awfully close to the listener. Why not try it, It may not work in most vehicles. Pretty hard to do an encloure upside down i think.

Well...I see two things here. Not to be discouraging but:

First, I don't think an overhead console would offer enough air volume unless it was way large.

Second, one driver is probably not going to offer enough output to be worth the effort.

I see a spatial issue with the sounds from that driver arriving at your head 1-3 milliseconds before the rest of the frequency range, and the driver closest will tend to draw attention to itself. That plus the concerns already mentioned, it still seems kind of interesting.
I am not afraid to do odd placements if it will improve SQ, but I do not want weird special effects.
