it would be awfully close to the listener. Why not try it, It may not work in most vehicles. Pretty hard to do an encloure upside down i think.

 

I see a spatial issue with the sounds from that driver arriving at your head 1-3 milliseconds before the rest of the frequency range, and the driver closest will tend to draw attention to itself. That plus the concerns already mentioned, it still seems kind of interesting.
I am not afraid to do odd placements if it will improve SQ, but I do not want weird special effects.
