Well finally after about a year of research and debating I have finally got together a complete SQ system which I feel is pretty decent for an entry level competitor such as myself. Im just interested to hear what your opinnions are on the setup I have chosen. Anyway here it is:

Vehicle: 1991 Honda civic Hatchback

Setup info: Stealth, false floor in rear hatch area, entire car deadened with B quiet ultimate, and door panels and other plastic panels sprayed with cascade V block.

Equipment:

Electrical: 1 optima yellow top, 1 Motomaster battery, batcap 400, 2 gauge main run, EFX power distrobution, upgraded grounds, 10 gauge speaker wire, custom home theatre shield monster cable 4 in 1 RCA cable, and Custom built 140 amp H.O alternator

Head unit: Alpine CDA-9813
Speakers: Canton QS 2.16 components
Sub: Image Dynamics IDMAX12D2 V.2 (sealed)
Sub Amp: MTX 225H.O. (D class) Bridged to 1ohm
Mid Amp: MTX 275X (A Class) 4 ohm stereo

Well thats the setup I will for sure be running, now let hear me hear what you guys think.

btw they are not a class D amp it is a high current class a/b one of the old "cheater" amps , you know only 25 watts per channel
Oh im quite aware that they are cheater amps, thats one of the reasons I bought them. What I didnt know was that the 225 was an a/b class, for some reason I was living under the illusion the whole time that it was a D. No wonder that bitch is so power hungry!

A few comments:

1. Forget the Batcap

2. Unless you are planning on a good deal of listening with the vehicle off then a second battery is not needed with your amps. The H.O. alternator is a good idea. If you do plan on extended listening with vehicle off then go with a second identical battery.

3. The MTX 275 is not a real class-A amplifier.

Thanks for the feedback but im not changing the system setup no matter what, I spent over a year doing reseach on it and this is how it will stay. And as far as the charging system goes it may be overkill but I would rather have all the extra headroom then none at all. I dont know if you know this but the Batcap actually takes alot of strain of the Voltage regulator and was recommened to my by the gentlemen who built my alternator as of means of extending its life greatly. And I do a fair amount of listening with the car off hence the extra battery. If theres one thing I know very well its my cars charging system and how it copes with different loads and all the upgrades im doing are a must for the equipment im running. And yes I know the MTX275 isnt a true class A, forgive me, its a class A/B.

If you are such a know-it-all regarding electrical systems then you wouldn't be using two different batteries in your install (unless you have an isolator which is not mentioned).

If you are unwilling to contemplate change then why have you asked for opinions in the first place?

</font>[/QUOTE]For your information I do plan on running an isolator. And I never stated that I wanted to change anything in the system, I simply wanted to here people thoughts on it. And one more thing, I never claimed I was an electrical wizard, I simply know what I have learned though research, talking with the experts, and my own trial and error with my own car. So forgive me if not an audio genius like yourself but im here and im trying me best.

Well your system looks pretty nice, but you really should not ask for opinions, unless you're prepared to accept them as just that...you're bound to get some that you don't like, no point arguing over it.
