Woo that sounds like wicked deadening... What's MEKP?

In my van, I had so many large flat surfaces that made nasty sound, I came up with my own idea. I got some 1/8in. industrial flat rubber for a buck a sq. ft., and contact cement/sprayon glue. Worked awesome.

in my trunk and my rear lights i used something called "Great Stuff" expanding foam... **** is annoying to work with cus its so sticky when first applied.. but it definately stops rattles and with a good coating on ur trunk it is definately good sound dampener... I actually used it on my window downstairs as insulation, and thought.. i should try this in my trunk. (its definately ghetto) but the crap is sandable and paintable. (easy to sand)

you said that you wanted to deaden your car, so does this mean that you want to eliminate rattles while listening to music as you drive or do you want no outside noise to get in and the ac energy created by the tranducers to be faithfully reproduced with as little absorbtion and reflections by the car itself both are diffent applications and must be adressed differently please specify. on a side note, i have been into the sound off scene since 90. and the deadest car i have ever encountered was dave oakleys neon. please pm dave and he will go over in detail what i took to get his car to that level. now having said that, was making and anochoic chamber on wheels the best approch................... good luck.
