What's The Best Way To Set Time Alignment?
A method I use - This is for an active setup: set everything to zero and try a rough xover setting that you know works ok.
T/A using white noise in pairs of speakers (L+R) so that you get levels set from the seating position.
For me, that means tweeters then mids and finally midbass.
Once the levels are set, listen to a phase track and again in pairs, get the sound to be coherant as possible in pairs of speakers again. This means that when the track says in phase, the sound should come from a single position rather than out.
Once the phase is correct in pairs of speakers, use T/A to centre the stage.
