Time Alignment

alpine pxah700, has a great d/a converter, gives you presets so you can save settings and refer back to them immediately while listening which can be very helpful, the time alignment can be done in .05v millisecond increments which is about 2cm, its also gives you a 6,12,18,24,30db/octave digital x-over, it also gives you 171 bands of equalization, as well as dts decoding and can also be used as a analog preamp if not using the fibre optic input, in my opinion the best processor on the market under 1200$

I've worked with the PXA-H700 and it is very versatile. The only problem is it seems they have a noise issue when using the regular RCA inputs. It has been discussed quite extensively over on the Carsound forumn. The system I have done used the Ainet input and Toslink input so I didn't experience the problem.

I guess if you've got your mind set on a TA deck my vote goes to Alpine, unless you can afford the P9.
You do know that to use TA properly you'll need a TEF anylizer right? Unless you can "earball" it up pretty good. If you can find a shop with one it'll be about $25/hour unless you know someone with one.

This is just opinion, but I find time alignment the lazy mans way of setting up your imaging ans stage. I don't find any benifit other than you can throw speakers just about anywhere, and have them somewhat image. I think its the easy way out. I dunno.
