Which will sound better 2 10s vs 1 12?
Ok I have done my system old school with PPI and may take a new direction. This is in my 71 Chevelle convertible. I know I wont be competing with a convertible
Art a404 Doors 1 " and 6.5"
Art a404 Rear fill full range 5.25
PPI 2300AM for the subs 600x2 2 ohms 2 10" subs
Would it be better going to 1 12 at 1200 at 2 ohms (ala A1200)
OR
Would it sound better going to 2 10s at 600 ea at 4 ohms (ala 2 A600s)
Thanks in advance
Andrew

assuming same subwoofer brand and model, and proper install...two 10's with 1/2 the power will outperform one 12 with 2x the power. As far as sounding better, I think it can, particularly at or near the amp's power limit as the 2 subs should be able to handle the power much better than a single sub at it's limit. The 2 subs should be louder as well...more cone area + same power= more air being moved.

I am torn on this one, as I have ran both 2 10's and 1 15', and I currently run 1 12".
Out of all them I preffer my single TFone 12" over all them. My DD 15'' hit good but running the same power to my 12 I think hammers way better. Not to mention my spl went up using a single 12
sometimes its more about the box then the sub quantity
