alright wasnt a big deal was just trying to eliminate the wire, if I have to live with it its fine.

 

you could always find a cheap cigarette socket extender then cut it and solder the socket behind the dash then just plug it into that. then you don't have to destroy your plug for the sat radio.

Another solution would be to wire a 5V voltage regulator along the wire from your battery. You should be able to get one at your local electronics store. One of these and the correct fuse, and you are set to go. then just connect to the output wire to the satellite radio.

 

You would also be better served to connect the power to an ignition or accessory line, this way it can turn on and off with the car.
