1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme Speaker install

The girl put the kibasch (i uno how to spell) on this since id have to take apart the car a little bit

so i started a new thread on my van

Ive got a few questions for ya guys. THis chick at work wants me to install some speakers in her car, the last time she had Best Buy install her deck, and they charged her for stuff that she didnt need/want/use (satelitte radio i believe). so she had me pick up some speakers (rememberd i had some kenwood 6.5" speakers in basement).

I need to know how to uninstall the stock speakers (dash and rear), and how to install the new ones

i kno that the stock rear speakers are 6x9's and know how to pop the "grill"/red fabric deally off em but i was lost after that (sadly)

the dash is also a problem, do i have to take it off? or is tehre a quick way to access the speakers?

will the 6.5" speakers fit in the stock mounting or will i need to fab up something to make em fit.....duct tape anyone?

first off the front speakers are 4" and yes the rears are 6*9's, for the front's check if the speaker cover pop's off or if the dash pad is one solid piece. If i remember corectly it is a pretty straight forward install, with a very low dificulty rating. Good luck

the front covers dont pop off, its a one peice design, so i guess that answers my question

and starts another, where are the screws for the dash so i can take it off?

and how can i get the rear 6x9s out? do i have to take the seats out and the top of the seats off (you guys understand that right?) or is there a easier way

My first answer to you is if you don't understand how the dash comes apart maybe you should'ed do the job.I know you can probly install speakers etc but all it takes is a little research.

Yeck i've even gone to the CT and looked at the car books to see how something comes apart.

To answer your question,no those speaker grills don't pop off, also they are only 4's in there

There are 5 phillips screws above your instrument cluster and radio, then the grey plastic around there pops off it's holders. Then there are 2 7mm screws inside the area you just opened up, one below the cluster and one below the radio. There are 2 7mm screws in the glove box, under your insert for the fuses, pull them. Then there are 3 (I believe) 7mm screws in the defrost grill by the windshield.that long plastic thing pops of, then the upper dashpad comes out.
