2002 Olds Alero deck install
I am having issues with installing a Pioneer deck into my 2002 Alero, 1st problem was the local Auto Zone gave me the wrong wiring harness, so I ordered another one and after install that my car battery was dead the next morning. So somewhere in the wiring something was wrong. I spoke with geek squad at best buy and they are trying to push a $100 harness on me, which I am not looking to spend that much for a harness. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do about the wiring itself or anyone have any suggestions on a wiring harness I should buy?

Hello and welcome to the Site.
Sorry about your problems. It is hard to give you the idea what is needed without all your Auto Info.
If you have onstar you would need to buy the Metra GMOS-01 Wiring Interface 99.99 to keep Onstar.
If you don't have Onstar then you could use, Metra LC-GMRC-01 Wiring Interface 50.00 Or you could use CRUX SOCGM-17 Wiring Interface 50.00
Most need this as well Metra 40-GM10 Antenna Adapter unless it had an after market radio in the car already once before.
How did you wire the kit? Did you use Wire Caps or Butt Connectors to your radio? or did you just strip and twist and tape? Also the wires that you had left over if any did you cap the off and tape so you don't short out?
What Wiring harness did you buy already?
James

James thanks for the response! Here is the harness I ended up using:
I cut the side I needed off.
I do not have onstar.
I connected the wires using butt connectors and taped those up, and the wires I didn't use i cut and taped the ends up.
