Hey, I am going to be installing a Blaupunkt Phoenix MP33 deck into my buddy's 1994 VW Jetta CL with the 8 speaker system (not Monsoon). I had heard that the factory VW harness plugs into the Blaupunkt decks, without another harness required. Anyone have any input on this? I realize that link is about a Ford Focus, but he uses a Metra 71-1784, which is what the Metra site lists as the correct plug to go into the factory VW radio. Thanks for any help you can give......

 

Not really familiar with the current Blaupunkt product but when I sold Blaupunkt a few years back it did have what amounts to a Metra 71-1784 as it's harness.

if it uses the vw plug you need to switch your battery power and your accessory power besides that there the same
