2005 Jetta MKIV Amp Install

Hey I have a 2005 Jetta tdi 5speed and I am wanting to install my amp and subs. I have all the RCA and Remote line wired in, but I can't seem to find anywhere on the fire wall to pass the power wire through. Can anyone help me out?

The best way is to look from the inside during day light. You will have to get down and dirty and there will be a hole. Check by your peddles from where your wiring goes threw. Thats how the 96s were. With my 96 tho even when I found the holer I ran fishing tape threw it and it was a pain to find the fishing tape under the hood. But there will be a hole.

I had most of the lower dash out today I didn't see anything. There is just to much insulation in the way and you cant really peal it outta the way. Guess I'll take another poke under there tomorrow after work.

dont peel it, theres a few places you can pass it through one is where the throttle cable gormet is, i wouldnt but it there, but on the opposite side, where the glovebox is there should be a gormet with wiring harness from ur engine bay.

usually i find that vehicles will have a hole existing but it will be filled with a grommet, you have to look for a existing grommet and poke a hole in that. If not just find a location where there is clearance on both sides and drill a hold yourself and fit it with a good fitting grommet.

i dont reccomend the drilling method, as you now open up a hole. so your car wont be as warm in the winter.

thus a good fitting grommet. What do you think is filling in all the holes in the firewall from the manufacturer. The only issue with drilling a new hole is accidentally drilling into a vehicle vital. that is why you quad check all the clearances before drilling anything.

Well I ended up using the Throttle cable hole. It was un-used being that my car has a electronic throttle and no cable.
