Post 2009 VW Jetta HU install.

I am looking to install a new head unit with BT for my wife. I will purchase the HU and installation kit from Crutchfield.ca and install myself. The wiring harness in the kit from crutchfield is the following: "PAC Volkswagen Radio Replacement Interface For select 2002-up Volkswagen vehicles (model C2R-VW2)". Just wanted to make sure that this will work with my wife's car. She has the double din unit in there now and does not have steering wheel controls.
Also for mounting the BT mike... how do I pull off the driver side column panel so that I can run the wire behind it and mount the mike close to the visor?
Thanx for any help.

I never mount the mic by the visor - too much chance of noise with the window open. I like to put it on top of the steering column or tucked into the bottom right of the gauge cluster. Easy to wire and picks up well.

Putting them at the top isn't to bad but if you do put it up there try to put it closer to your rear view mirror, not right in the center but a little more towards the driver (then the wind noise isn't as bad). Or make your life easy and listen to Dukk
