Alternator Upgrade question
I am planning on upgrading my current stock alternator which is about 55 amps to and alternator that puts out around 130 amps peak and im wondering if theres anything i need to worry about, mainly blowing the cars main fuse which is rated for like 65 amps when the demand on the alternator goes over 65 amps. BTW the car is a 1991 honda civic 1.6 4cyl.
upgrade the positive wire to the alt and connect it directly to the battery, also beef up the engine ground.
you can also put an ANL(wafer)fuse in the alt circuit, if you would like the protection.
4 guage wire will be sufficient.
