AMP - red light flashing and beeping sound

I just pulled out my old amp and installed an MTX thunder 6500D instead of my old Kenwood 2 channel amp. When i installed this amp, i get no bass, and just a little bit of noise (sounds like police scanner almost) when i turn the gain up. Now today when i turned my car on the amps red light was flashing and it was beeping, whats going on??

first of all i would take the amp to a shop and have them bench test the amp to see if its ok.
if you have a power supply you can do this yourself this will take the vehicle out of the senario.
if amp no worky try to get your money back or have it fixed.
if its the vehicle check yur ground.
the only reason i say get the amp bench tested is you had an amp in there before and it worked.

I put my amp back in and it works fine, i'm gonna try the amp in my buddy's car and see how it works there. The seller has agreed to send me another amp, so i don't really want to spend my money to test it at a shop
