amp shuts off when remote wire is split into another amp
i`m installing a system in my wife`s suv. running off stock head unit, i have a lc2i loc, sountream rubicon 600.4. i installed another amp (phase linear .6kw) for a sub. when i hooked up the other amp i ran a remote wire from the loc remote out into the phase amp and the rubicon went into protection. the remote for the rubicon is from the fuse box so i split it to the sub amp and it did the same thing. the phase runs fine its just the rubicon shuts off when the remote is hooked up to the other amp.
now i have both amps grounded to the same point, would that be an issue?
thanx in advance.
put a meter in the distro block, getting solid 14.4 v

just an update, moved the ground on the sub amp same thing. i tried a little lightning audio amp i had lying around and everything was fine. i don`t understand how an amp could put another amp into protection mode and work by itself.

Digging up an old thread here.
The remote wire from some head units carries a very low current and will drop below 12V when any current is pulled from it. Try using a good 12V source to see if both amps come on. If so, use the remote wire to fire a relay instead.
