Amp suggestions for newbie

Hi everyone,

I just got my hands on 2 10" subs (MTX RT1040 - I know they aren't the best but I'm not interested in building a big powerfull system - just want a bit of low end). What are some suggestions for a decent amp for these. Here are the specs for the subs. Thx.

RT1040 10" Subwoofer
(25.4 cm) 4 Ohms 36 Hz-1.8kHz
125 Watts 93 dB 28oz
(.8kg) 4 7/16" (112.7mm)

You need to make sure your amp makes most of it's power at 2ohms.

you need an amp that puts out 250-300 watts rms @ 2ohms into 1channel...lots out there, choose a good brand that fits your budget.

I have those same subs and right now I have a Phoenix Gold 5.0:1 .. puts out around 350-400wrms at 2 ohms.. powers them pretty nicely.

Nothing wrong with the 5.0.1, if you want a bit more get another and bridge one to each sub at 4 ohms.
