Blown amp caps - please help
Blown amp caps - please help
I just bought a memphis mcd1000 for 70 bucks, when plugged in the fuse fault light turns on but i could not find the fuses (no slots for them on the outside of the amp) when i opened it i noticed 2 samwha 200v were blown. I hear the replacement process consists of just a few solders. Will this solve the fault fuse problem? And is the fixation easy? I would appreciate any advice and can post detailed pics upon request, thank you
First off, if you dont have repair experience then please dont attempt this on your own. I just bought a blown amp that someone tried to repair. It was more of a mess to clean up before I could get started doing the actual repair.
If the caps are bad (leaking) then you probably also have some blown MOSFETs or resistors. They are usually whats attached to the heat sink.
