Centre channel Q's

Anyone running a centre channel up front? What speaker(s) did you go with, how are you powering it?

I'm in process of installing, but my system consists of:

2004 F150 supercrew -

jbl components up front, in the doors
jbl coaxials in the rear doors
No sub yet, but most likely shallow mount pioneer/premier under the rear seat
All powered by Alpine pdx.5.. 75x4, 300x1.

I'm contemplating including some kind of centre channel speaker, but am not clear on what, where, etc.

One thing i was considering is getting a pair of 3.5" 3ways and running them from the original fronts on the deck, as my amp is powering the 4 main speakers.

Are there any issues with this kind of setup?

Thanks

Are you adding it for 5.1 surround sound or SQ? If it is SQ, you should use the same mid (and possibly tweeter) as the front speakers.

To do it right you should also be using an appropriate center channel processor.

Is this the dash for your truck?

If so you have all the room in the world for a center channel speaker if you choose to build up out of the center section. It is a rather simple thing to do and make look stellar at the same time.

Here is a link to a center channel install that was done in this fashion. Scroll down the page to find the pic.

Centre channel speaker grill if you look close is the front end of a Jeep grill. The tweeter is in one headlight, the other headlight has a tweeter grill only. The entire thing lit up with blue led's.

I have a 2008 Screw. Same dash and that tray on top would be perfect for a center channel. Relocate the MP3 input jack as it is in the stupidest place possible anyway and go hard.

Rob - I don't remember those pics being posted on CCA...
