couple questions (dont kill the n00b)

Here goes, Ive got a 1995 Pontiac Trans Sport (i know it sucks) but its all i have until i can get my 1997 Saturn SC1 repaired (just got a promotion to assistant manager and it has been sitting in a garage since i crashed it a year and a half ago) so everything i have audio wise is in the van at the moment.

Setup thus far
Pioneer DEH-3700MP Deck
Kenwood KFC-1669S speakers
and just i just bought 2 Kenwood 12's in a box from a friend. (he bought the used for 150, then his mom gave him that money back and said get rid of em because she didnt want him to have 2 subs in his car, so then i bought it off of him for 40 bucks )

I dont know what model # the subs are, I know only the following, 350W RMS, 700W Peak, 12", dont know anything else (dont shoot)

What i want to know is how powerful of an amp do i need? im not trying to impress anyone here by having the greatest sounding system, i mean that combined 700W RMS and 1400W peak will be way too much for a van let alone a Saturn when everything gets transfered back to it. So i just want something on the cheap, amp wise.

Ill take a picture of the box incase someone is good enough that they can figure out the model of the subs (in a bit that is)

In Audio..... Peak means NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!

I would go with a 600-700 watt RMS amp if you could get one.

its got an impedance of 8 ohm on the sub, ive been only finding 4ohm and less amps, i cannot find 8ohm amps...am i missing something or are they just hard (aka more expensive) to find?

EDIT:
Nevermind, i figured it out. should i go for a mono or 2 channel amp? if i go mono then i need to look at 2ohm power and 2 channel is 4ohm power correct?

check to make sure their not 8ohm dual voice coils in which case they can present a 4ohm load if hooked up correctly. In either case get the mono block amp. The mtx tc6001 is bridged internally and will do 600 rms at 2ohms. not sure on the cost though, usually you pay $1 a watt when you buy new.
