Do I need to use a data relocation on my 2004 colorado LT?

Other than relocating the actual factory unit .. is there a way around this?

Yes, purchase the proper data retention harness like one from Metra. This will allow you to remove the head unit.

wow

It's pretty bad when the cost of the 'wiring harness' is about a third of the cost of a good deck! I paid $429.99 for my deck and will have to pay 150.00 for the relocation wiring harness!

Is there a more resonable way of doing this. I dont really care about the whole chiming and such.

Is there a $40-50 fix for this problem (and still be problem free?). It's funny because I owned a 2007 saturn ion prior to this and they told me that for sure I was to use the same part that you have to use in the Colorado. There was a wiring harness released for the 06-07 ions and it was a 'normal looking' harness for $19.99 and everything worked properly?
