F150 2004+ Install

Has anyone installed front speakers in the new F150? Did you drill out the wiring plug or the door? I am just not sure about drilling through the plug in a brand new truck.

Thanks in advance...

I did some fiberglassing and put in a pair of Polk SR6500's in my 08 Limited and I took out the molexs and drilled out two empty spaces for the new wire to run.

Let me tell you It was a major PITA to get those molexs out. The pas side wasn't too bad and once it was out there were a lot of large free holes to choose from to drill.

For the drivers door I had to remove the E-Brake to get at the inside connector and there are very few spots to drill into.

But I did get it done and I am by no means a pro, this was my first full install, so if I could do it, I'm sure anyone with some patience and willing to drill into a brand new truck between a bunch of wires could too.

Use a drill bit that just fits into the empty space and set the drill speed to SLOW. And be very carefull. I drilled from the inside (part without the wire) to the outside (part with the wire entering).

Good luck.
I took some pics of the molex but didn't take any after I had drilled them out.

It was a real beyotch to go through the molex in the drivers side. My installer was like screw that idea, you do it....so I did in less time that it took him to do the passenger side. Guess I still have it after all....
