ground loop oscillator question (altrenator noise coming through amp)

if you're still using that kicker amplifier, make sure that the heatsink is not grounded.
grounding any of the si,ss,zr and xs amplifier chassis, will cause a ground-loop

Do Ground loop oscillators degrade SQ?
I used one for a while, it was a Jensen VBH1RR (http://www.jensen-transformers.com/) and it did the job very well. I would dare say it is the best made... it seemed to soften transients and lowered output in the 150 to 300 Hz region SLIGHTLY. It was very good and I could have lived with it in my system.

(note: I had numerous ground faults and electrical issues at that point, the cars stock stereo had alternator whine prior to this too)
