I have over 120 trophies because I have spent the time to learn..................I learn new stuff all the time.....................swallow some ego and ask questions...............

Imagine if you took the time to learn what you might be able to do................
oh and i do learn, just not the same things u know/learn. I've got all the possible theoretical advice about SPL a person can have. Trust me i've 'heard' it all from A to Z and i have tried most of it. The point still remains, when there is no gain on the meter what good is that theory to me?
PS. yah u got trophies b/c u took time to learn and all, and you think i just woke up one day and became loud? almost 3 years in the making buddy, hardwork and dedication and ofcorse great help from great ppl who dont just sit there and spew out theories at me.

I dont understand what you want me to ask and why? If i feel that there is someone capable of providing a sufficient enough answer i will probably ask, unfortunatelly it probably wont be on this forum b/c i'd probably get more theories thrown at me.
sometimes i think arguing with u guys is pointless, the reason for that is, as i stated before, you are too old school and have been out of the spl loop for too long. I could say something but u would still not agree simply b/c u dont know and dont want to be believe so. so this is really pointless to me and as far as i can see to u as well.
also next time u decide to reply to my post pls consider all of it, not jus the part where u think u can 'get' me as that makes u appear not very bright.

George thinks that Yuli has made some good points but still may not realize that there has been several times when he has argued a point only to come back and say that he really doesn't know about it once someone has explained the theory behind it.
George knows that theory will always help with practicality.

I find power is an added bost more then anything.
I only gained 1.5/1.6 db last year when I doubled it. It's even less the higher up you get.
X </font>
What I meant was that you can do pretty much similar numbers from 4 10s as 4 15s or 10 15s or what have you as long as you optimize your box setup. After that it is all about the POWER...
Brand generally doesn't mean jack either. I like to refer back to when an all Kenwood system took home the big prize 2 years back to back.
It isn't what you got - it's how you use it. And it always takes power.
And how did my name get tossed into the **** fest up there. I know everything - everyone can compete for second

I think if all you guys are gonna sing it, BRING IT! I don't see most of you guys at events and no, you don't need a big wallet to win trophies. I won my very first 2 trophies a couple weeks ago both for first place. all I run is a Planet Audio 2500D at $400.00 an Alpine 8311 HU at $400.00 and a Kicker 12L7 at $200.00 all bought used from this forum.(the HU was new) That being said, I'm almost hitting 147db with 1 12" 750rms sub.
I also hit a 142 on the new sensor with a 500 watt MTX amp and a pair of $200.00 subs. IMO, It comes down to box design and tons of testing.
I guarantee you can win trophies with less then $800.00 worth of gear.

You might not see everyone at these events you go to because....
well for myself I dont run around the event telling everyone " Hey guys look at me im slow/n\low from CCA"
Also as far as winning with little money. It can be done easy at Joe's liquidation car audio stores anual SPL bash. Now when you start to hang out with people who have the ability to design an SPL system, more money wins!!
But you are right that to win at a local small show, engineering can beat money.
