Help amp powering off?

I have 2 kicker 15" CVRs wired at 2 ohms.
I hooked up a Mono Pioneer 800 watt max amp up to them.
It puts out 360 Watts RMS.
My kickers are rated at 1000 Watts RMS.

I only hooked up the amp to listen to em thump a bit.

Anyways I was listening to them for about 45 min, and they were hitting real hard on this one song and out of nowhere my amp just shut off.

I let it cool down, and turned my car back on 2 hours later.

The Amp powered on, and it was thumping lightly at about 8/35 volume.
I turned up to 18/35 and it just shut off again as soon as that hard bass note hit.

it keeps shutting off everytime a heavy bass starts going.
AND YES, I DO KNOW IM UNDERPOWERING THEM.

WHAT COULD THIS BE?

I think you answered your own question though. Amp is pushing hard trying to power the speakers, and is overheating/going into protect mode basically.

Yep

Yeah I knew that, I wasnt pushing it that hard though.
The gain wasn't set that high.
But the amp just had one of the fuses blow in it.

I Also am only running one 2 ohm DVC sub right now.
Its wired to a 4 ohm load.

So the amps doing fine with that.

The only reason im running this tiny amp on my setup right now is because I ordered a Kicker 1000.1 ZX, and it came to my house DEFECTIVE!
It powers on but no sound at all...
So im returning it and getting a working model.

So if im reading correctly you had problems with running 2 subs. So now with one hooked up assuming you have your amp bridged to a 4 ohm load and its working fine right?
Im wondering how you had the 2 subs wired up, what kind of load you were presenting to your amp?
You possibly blew one of your subs(the one that u arent using) try the other sub and see if your amp shuts off with that one connected.

Whats the model of the pioneer amp? is it a monoblock or a 2 channel?
