k ive got a 2003 sunfire with door pannels that wont allow me to put 6.5s in it now im wondering if theres a how to make 6.5 ports in each door pannel ive got the mounts just not enough room for the door pannels to go on so id need to modify these pannels for these things to fit.

 

have you removed the door pannels yet to see what is there ?

 

yes i went out and got the door kit to make the holes to 6.5 now the only isue is they stick out too much for the door pannels to go back on

 

can you do a pic
you can make a door kit as you called it out of mdf or plywood and sink the speakers into it

i dont have a digital camera but i can show you where the speaker sits this is a 5 1/4 now if i extent it to a 6.5 then it interfers with the molding click on the bottem right pict

hey bud your in luck i'm mounting 6.5" in my cavalier doors, which are very similar to yours. I'm just cuttin out a fairly large hole in the main panel, added mdf layers to hold the speaker, then gonna seal up a nice contour with fiberglass. Should look pretty snazzy when all is said and done. Too bad I gotta wait for warm weather...
