How much Deadening Material?

I am getting ready to install a system into my new car after a year of listening to the factory cd player in my 92 legacy with dry rotted paper cone speakers In my new Outback I want to line the front doors and maybe some in the back of the car around the sub. You guys think 50sq/ft would be enough for the doors at the very least? I don't know how long I will be keeping this car so I don't want to go all out at this time.

If i were you i'd upgrade in separate steps so you can better appreciate different improvements, that way next time you'll have a better idea what matters most to you. also, you might decide it's good enough for now after just upgrading to aftermarket speakers and a new deck.

I have already installed a full system when I had a 08 civic and the rattling door panels and trunk lid were as loud as the system. Hell even my wipers would bounce on the wind shield. I know this car is going to rattle like my civic did and I rather not have that same issue again. Plus I love mid bass so every little bit extra I can get out of my gear is great.
