This is easily testable. Use two pins and poke them into the power and neg wires. Use a digital multimeter to read the voltage when the cars off. Should read 0v. Turn the deck on and see if it gets power. There is your answer.

i always thought the power antena was always on i have used it as the remote on 2 different decks and it worked fine maybe it was jus the lower end decks
