so i bought a new car finally 2001 grand am se1.it has the factory monsune(sp) sound system. but i want to replace it with my alpine 9827. other than getting the wiring harness and dash kit is there anyother thing i have to worry about like relocatoing the stock deck? the car also has a factory alarm system/ keyless remote

 

'01 GA will have class 2 databus, so you'll either need the relocation harness, or the Peripheral interface module (model GMCO, I believe)if you want to keep everything happy and working in the car. Other than that you'll need an antenna adaptor if you listen to the radio. I'm pretty sure the Monsoon system doesn't complicate things in a GA, just make sure you connect your amp turn-on wire (blue) when you wire your harness.
