Installing a new HU in a Lincoln Aviator and keeping RSE

Hi everybody,

I tried searching everywhere but can't seem to find a solution. I've got a 2004 Lincoln Aviator that I'm installing a new HU (a Kenwood X993) and I want to keep the rear DVD player (RSE). I found on a forum that using the Axxess AFDI-RSE-01 would work (even though the Aviator isn't listed on their website). I know that the DVD works properly since I can reinstall the factory radio and it works fine.

The wiring of the device does seem a bit strange to me. (This is far from the first car stereo install, but it's the first one that's making me scratch my head)

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thx,

Eric

Add-on question...

Can someone at least tell me if the radio system is a Can-Bus system? It might help me find the proper wiring harness for the rear DVD.

Thx,

Eric
